Leaf Collection Schedule for Residents on Town-owned Public Paved Roads starting October, 2023 - Please read.

The Public Works Department is a work force made up of ten people which is tasked with maintaining the Town’s highway system as well as all Town owned properties. These workers are required to be available 24-hrs a day year round to deal with any weather related problems or road issues that may arise.

The Department also maintains the new recreation complex which was built a few years ago. We have gotten a firm hold on the Town’s responsibilities and duties in maintaining this multi-million dollar investment. The Department presently operates and maintains thirty pieces of heavy equipment and trucks with many smaller tools and equipment.

Each year the weather presents many challenges from snow and ice to heavy winds and flooding rains. Normally the Town can deal with all this bad weather, and are able to make all of the needed repairs and cleanup and still remain in budget because of the efficiencies we have developed along with the diligence and professionalism of our workers. Like everyone else during these difficult economic times we’ve learned to do more with less.
